• What Is A Domain Name?
Your Domain Name or web address signifies your own address on the internet. It is a unique alphanumeric name used for identifying and locating computers on the internet.
As no two parties may ever hold the same Domain Name at the same time, it is a truly unique identifier of you and your company. It is how your customers will remember you and find you among millions of other websites on the internet.
Domain Names were developed to correspond to a series of numbers called Internet Protocol numbers (IP) that serve as routing addresses on the internet. IP addresses are hard to remember therefore web addresses were developed to permit the use of easily remembered words.
• How Long Does It Take To Register?
A new domain name will take anything from 48 to 72 hours to register and update over the internet, and thus start working correctly. If you already have a domain name registered, and wish to use this with your new web site with us, the DNS has to be changed and the domain administration to point to our primary and secondary (slave) name servers, this again will take 48 to 72 hours to update and function correctly.
